Climate messages from around the world

  • 2 July 2019

Jesuit Missions asked partners from around the world to share their messages about why the time is now to take action on climate change.

Joel Thompson SJ, a Guyanese Jesuit scholastic explains how local farmers are finding it increasingly difficult to predict seasons while Bernie Aton, who works for Jesuit Missions partner in the Philippines, explains how the increase in typhoons affects the poorest people the hardest. Here in the UK, students from Jesuit college Stonyhurst explain how climate change affects everybody no matter who they are and Sr Theodora Hawksley says that we need the government to take action on climate change immediately.

On Wednesday 26th June, Jesuit Missions joined members of the Climate Coalition and thousands of individuals to lobby MP’s on why we need to take action on climate change now.
