Jesuit Missions continues its support in Vietnam
Jesuit Missions’ ongoing relationship with projects in Vietnam has supported summer retreats for young people to get away from their busy urban lives. The summer retreats are for people aged 17-30 and typically last 5 days, including one for silent prayer and another for a picnic that allows for trust and community building.
The demand has been so great that many students cannot make the summer trips. In order to meet this demand, weekend retreats will be provided twice a month in the north and the south of the country. Locations included Saigon, Hanoi, Da Lat, Hue and many others all over the country. This year alone there have been 19 retreats with 1,222 participants, an increase of 50 on last year’s total.
The retreats were so well received by participants that a fan page has been set up on Facebook which allows for participants to keep in touch and receive support after their trips. Jesuit Missions is proud to support the work of our partners in Vietnam and will look to provide updates on their progress in the future.
