2017

On 30 July 2017, the Jesuit Missions cycle team took to the streets of London to raise money for marginalised communities in India.

Grey Msonthi and Sebastian Cichocki braved 100 miles of hot tarmac as they took on the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey cycle race. The route began at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and took them through some of the most beautiful Surrey countryside before ending on The Mall.

The cause

The most vulnerable families in India belong to the lower caste Dalit or tribal groups. In the Madurai province of South India, Jesuit Missions is constructing housing for 200 Dalit and tribal families. By providing safe accommodation with access to clean, running water and hygiene facilities, Jesuit Missions is ensuring that these families have the foundation they need to build lives of stability and dignity. The money raised by our cyclists this year, helped to fund one of these houses.
