Kyrgyzstan is a central Asian country known for it’s natural beauty and semi-nomadic yurt style of living.
This is a one month placement offering you the chance to immerse yourself in the culture by helping to coordinate and run a holiday camp for children and young people. You will take part in a variety of activities from teaching English to playing sports. The placement usually takes place in August allowing you the opportunity to volunteer while still studying.
Volunteering is currently suspended due to COVID-19. In the meantime you are encouraged to sign up to our COP26 Pilgrimage.
- Volunteers will live in tents, following the local style of living, and will be expected to help with the meal preparation.
- We ask you to contribute £450 towards the cost of your ticket. You will also need around £400 to cover the cost of visa, vaccinations, insurance and personal spending money. We can help you with applying for grants towards this.
- There will be 2 days of training in London beforehand that will provide useful preparation for your time away.
The camp atmosphere and community feeling was brilliant. I really miss the simplicity of life. It really highlighted for me how overly complex we make things in the UK. (Will, volunteer 2017) Click To Tweet
