The Time is Now virtual lobby
On 30 June we are excited to join our friends at The Climate Coalition for a virtual lobby. They are inviting you, and thousands of others to ask MPs to put people, climate and nature at the heart of our nation’s recovery.
As we recover from the current health crisis, we have the opportunity to rebuild a resilient economy. An economy that benefits everyone in society, creating jobs and protecting the most vulnerable in the UK and around the world. We can choose to tackle climate change and nature’s decline. Or we can let the moment for change pass us by, go back to old ways and wait for new crises to hit.
Last June, students from The Ursuline School, Wimbledon College and St Benedict’s College in Ealing joined Jesuit Missions to lobby their MP’s to take action on climate change. This was part of The Time Is Now climate lobby, which saw over 10, 000 individuals from across the country take action. Students at St Joseph’s in Hurst Green also hand made a banner for us to use at the lobby. In addition, students at Stonyhurst took part in our The Time is Now video and sent postcards to their local MPs ahead of the lobby.
How can I get involved?
Using our voices to call for action to defend the world’s most vulnerable is more important than ever. Have a virtual cup of tea with your MP on Tuesday 30 June. Tell them that #TheTimeIsNow to put a healthy, greener, fairer future at the heart of plans to rebuild from the Coronavirus crisis.
