The Jesuits have been active in South Africa for over 150 years.
Jesuit Missions supports urban refugees in South Africa, by enhancing their access to education both with children and adult learning. We also support the welfare of refugees by conducting health visits.
We support a homeless soup kitchen in Johannesburg, run by the Holy Trinity Catholic church in Brammfontein.
In 2018, Jesuits Missions launched a new volunteer programme which sends UK volunteers to South Africa for three months. There they will work as part of a long term project, together with local volunteers and the Jesuit refugee service. This enables young people the chance to become leaders for social change.
