Lent 2026: Jesuit Missions launches calendar and Stations of the Cross film

Jesuit Missions has published a selection of resources to help supporters engage with the upcoming Lenten season.

It has produced a special calendar for the 40-day period running from Ash Wednesday (18th February) to Palm Sunday (29th March), which includes a daily reflection, passage of Scripture and suggested action.

Each day is linked to a specific project supported by Jesuit Missions, such as an Indigenous language programme in Guyana, agricultural training in South Sudan, or a human rights’ network in India.

An online version of the calendar is available, as well as printable versions where users can tick off the daily actions.

Jesuit Missions has also put together a short film around the Stations of the Cross, a typical Lenten practice which traces Jesus’s Passion.

The film links each of the 14 stations to one of our partner projects, showcasing the hardships faced by many living in the Global South, but also the resilience and hope on display.

Jules Gibson, Community Engagement Manager at Jesuit Missions, said: “Jesuit Missions works alongside communities across the globe to bring hope where there is hardship, dignity where there is oppression, and care where creation is threatened.

“As we prepare for Lent, let us unite our hearts with those striving for education, justice, peace, and environmental stewardship.

“May this journey deepen our solidarity and inspire us to act with courage and compassion.”
