Resources for Season of Creation 2025 launched by Jesuit Missions

This year's theme is 'Peace with Creation', calling for a more peaceful and just world

A selection of resources is available on the Jesuit Missions website to help supporters enjoy this year’s Season of Creation.

Season of Creation is an annual, ecumenical celebration, which honours and promotes the protection of our planet. It runs from 1 September to 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi.

This year’s theme is ‘Peace with Creation’, with participants urged to pray for a peaceful and just world throughout the next five weeks.

Jesuit Missions supporters can find a host of tools online, including a presentation on the Day of Prayer for Care of Creation, which kicks the Season off on Monday.

There will be a series of environmental reflections published every Tuesday, with contributions from figures across the Jesuit and wider Christian communities.

There is also information on the ‘Fridays for the Future’ initiative, where students demand climate action from politicians, and a resource which combines the Lord’s Prayer with the theme of justice.

Schools – but also parish groups and others who are interested – can find out more about the ‘Letters to the Earth’ programme, which encourages people to call for an end to the exploitation of our natural world.

Supporters will also find details about some of the projects supported by Jesuit Missions, particularly those who are impacted by the effects of climate change and environmental damage.

Examples include the Sowing Seeds project in South Sudan, which supports farming education in areas dependent on agriculture, and the Intercultural Bilingual Education programme in Guyana, which enables Indigenous communities to celebrate their land, culture and heritage through schooling.
