Jesuit Missions’ partners visiting the UK to discuss their work with marginalised groups

Caroline Sanga from Jesuits East Africa is among those set to attend

Representatives from projects supported by Jesuit Missions (JM) are visiting the UK over the coming days, where they will speak with supporters about their life-changing work.

JM will welcome Caroline Sanga, Programmes Officer, Jesuits East Africa; Patricia Tahirindray, Programme Coordinator, Centre Arrupe Madagascar; Fr Paul Martin SJ, Intercultural Bilingual Education Organisation, Guyana; and Fr Roy Sebastian SJ, National Director, Lok Manch (People’s Forum), India.

They will attend Masses, meet with pupils and staff from Jesuit schools, and, on Thursday 23rd April, join the organisation’s Annual Reception.

The partners will also spend dedicated time with the JM team, sharing ideas about how to develop the relationship between supporters and with those working on the ground, and are set to feature on Radio Maria.

Throughout their time here, they will speak about key issues such as climate change, Indigenous rights and refugee support, and the impact these have on the countries where they are based.

Jules Gibson, Community Engagement Manager at Jesuit Missions, said: “Through parish appeals, school visits and shared celebrations of the Eucharist, these encounters offer a vital opportunity to listen, learn and deepen the relationships at the heart of our mission.

“Meeting face to face with our partners reminds us that our work is rooted in accompaniment. These days of shared conversation and reflection help us remain attentive to local voices and faithful to our call to walk alongside communities at the margins.

“We are grateful for all that this time will hold and look forward to what we will learn together.”
